--- Adjoint is pleased to announce the opening of our New York City office, led by former Willis Towers Watson and Citibank executive, Richard Magrann-Wells. ---
This expansion comes on the heels of signing key strategic partnerships and product integrations with leading financial and industrial companies in the region to develop Uplink, the company's unique distributed ledger platform. Adjoint is rapidly expanding, with three new office locations this year alone. In 2016, Adjoint began with two cities London and Boston. This year, we have expanded to Zug, Switzerland, and now New York, NY. Adjoint’s U.S. expansion is representative of its dedication to serving and growing relationships across the U.S. enterprise and FinTech markets.
“We are excited to expand into NYC. Several of our existing and new clients are based there and it is a strategic step for us to create a dedicated office in NYC. Richard is the perfect team member to drive our enterprise sales in the U.S. from NYC, given his deep expertise across FinTech, banking, insurance and regulation.” -Havell Rodrigues, Adjoint CEO and Co-Founder
Richard Magrann-Wells, Adjoint’s Head of North American Sales, will be leading the expansion to New York City. Richard is a seasoned banking professional, financial regulations lawyer, and former FinTech practice executive. Prior to joining Adjoint, Richard was Executive Vice President of the Financial Institutions Group at Willis Towers Watson. There he was exposed to emerging innovations, such as distributed ledger technology, that are poised to revolutionize the finance and insurance industries. Prior to Willis Towers Watson, Richard managed Foreign Exchange at Merrill Lynch, Wells Fargo, and Citibank for over 20 years working with corporate treasurers at major US corporations.
In addition to Richard’s enterprise and banking experience, he has an extensive educational background to drive creative business models and regulatory compliance at Adjoint. He has a Juris Doctorate from The University of California’s Hastings College of Law. Not long after graduation, he returned to higher education at New York University’s Stern School of Business to earn his MBA ‘89. Lastly, following the financial crisis in ‘08, Richard enrolled at Boston University School of Law to earn his LLM, specializing in banking and financial law, compliance and regulation for financial institutions.
“I knew Adjoint was unique the moment I met them. In my past roles I have met hundreds of innovators talking about the future - Adjoint is talking about delivering solutions - right now. The blockchain industry is just emerging from all the hype, but Adjoint’s Uplink platform is the real deal. I am thrilled to be part of the team and can’t wait to demonstrate how this technology can help solve real problems, real soon.” - Richard Magrann-Wells, Head of North America Sales
